A Look Back......

I found some more pictures from our summer vacation at Georgetown Lake that I wanted to post. ( see above) They were on the memory card and I hadn't downloaded them yet. So, here are some pictures!! Also, even though I know that it's not the end of the year, I just wanted to get prepared for the first Ben and Sara Annual Newsletter. Ben's mom does one, but I feel that it only recognizes a glimpse of every one's lives as there are so many of us. So, here goes:

In January, Ben and I celebrated our 1st anniversary! Hooray- a whole year!! Ben also started his new job with the county as a deputy sheriff. He still loves his job and is very good at it! I am very proud of him. In February, I had my birthday and also got hired at Carbon County for the job I have now, as the Assistant County Planner. We also went to Dickinson, ND ( my first time there) to see Ben's brother Ryan and his family. March and April were pretty uneventful, but in May, I walked in the Montana State University commencement ceremony after having completed my Bachelor's Degree in December. We had everyone out at our house and it was a lot of fun. We made the second biggest purchase our married life in May, my new Subaru, and I have never regretted it! I love that car! Summer started before we knew it and Ben and I found ourselves both on the day shift for the first time in three years. A lot of sunsets watched and evening bike rides. Speaking of bike rides. Ben also got in a bike crash and cracked two ribs and had a serious case of road rash! A few weeks later- he cut the tendons in his hands ( see older posts). We held the first annual Ben and Sara Party for the Edgar Volunteer Fire Department's fireworks, with friends and family, only to find out later, it would be their last year of putting on the fireworks display. It was during this event that Quincy ran away and left us devastated for about 14 hours. She has stayed put ever since, and we now know she hates fireworks! We went away for the 4th of July to Yellowstone and had a little "family time" with Quincy. Our house saw a huge transformation from the outside (green to grey) and I finally finished everything about three months later! The first of August was here and gone and we spent nine days at Georgetown Lake with Ben's family and Erin, my little sister came along, too! It was a lot of fun, and hopefully next year will be even better! We took Ben's mom and dad over the Beartooth Pass for the first time for Labor Day Weekend and helped his grandparents make the move from Butte, the town they had lived in all their life, to Billings, so Grandpa could be closer to the doctors. That pretty much brings everything up to date. Ben just spent the better half of this week hunting with his brothers and dad. I will post those pictures later, I think they are on Ben's work camera. Next week, we will have two Thanksgivings and just the thought of that makes me full! On Tuesday we will eat with Ben's family, because all the men have to work on Thanksgiving. ( The lives of Cops and Paramedics) Thursday will be dinner with my family at our house. Just my mom, dad, brother and his wife, and Erin. Simple, relaxing, and fun. Ben works that night, so it'll be short and sweet! Our plans for December include Ben traveling to Glasgow for Law Enforcement training and a long weekend on Ben's birthday at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort for his family's annual holiday get together. Between that and special meetings, the New Year will be here before you know it.
